The food here are decent comparing to most of the other Vietnamese around town. I also think that they took inflation to a different level. I felt screwed today won't be going back
The catfish tastes good, but it was not hot at all, so I don't know if it's fresh cooked or not. I worry that if it's old, then I might get sick, so I stop buying it, but Rong Bien restaurant's catfish is always hot, so I go there instead .
I haven 't bought anything at this location for a long time. I just wanted to get a 'ga xao xa ot (lemongrass chicken). Omg that was soo expensive. I wasn 't aware that inflation could have caused prices going sky high. Or this place just took advantage of the trend. One pound of lemon grass chicken is $14/lb. I didn 't realize until I decided to buy 1 medium sized bucket Togo, and I paid $18. The customer before me was almost yelling and crying for the high price. She said 'ban gì mà mắc dữ vậy ' I don 't think I ever come back again Unreasonably high price Just cook at home, worth the money and healthy eating 'Gà xào xã ớt ' is packed with sugar
Been here 20*y. Family owned. Highest quality of all the Vietnamese fast food places in San Jose. Like Panda Express style with the steam tables. Owners spend a lot of time thinking of how to make home style Vietnamese food. Clay pot caramelized fish, pork ribs, they make sour mustard when in season. Wide variety of 24oz soups to go. All are the Cahn chua with different combinations of vegetable and protein. As close to home style as you can get. Everything made fresh daily. No English translation. Counter speaks English. Fantastic quality and variety. Owners aren't trying to maximize profit they take pride in providing food quality at least as what you can make at home. Many of the dishes like caramelized fish or pork they have to make ahead of time and if they dont sell it they have to toss it. Nobody does this anymore because of the time involved. 1-3 item combos w rice. Very large portion sizes. difficult for 1 person to finish in one sitting
Haven't gone here in such a long time but the bf wanted to come since he grew up eating this and was craving it. It's gone hill since the last time I've gone here. Not even sure if it's still owned by the same people. Prices are still good, but portions are small. Not much options, as many dishes are either simple of almost repetitive with the same ingredients.
