The first time I ordered it through door dash, it was great. However the second time was very disappointing and a waste of money. I was served poor quality uni. There was lemon slices all over my raw salmon bowl that ended up cooking the fish. Also, I was served tobiko instead of ikura. The bowls were nothing like the pictures on their website. If Umi didn’t have enough food to take the order, they should not have accepted it.
Delightful little shop in the SOFA market for sorta-quick bites. Definitely pick up the combo and pick out three good rolls. Salmon is decent, though the truffle salmon skin is pretty tough. Baked salmon belly was nice and warm and filling.
Love their truffle salmon skin hand roll. Service was great. Food was ready when I arrived.
Lobster Handroll was good with adequate filling that extended down the roll, the Salmon Belly and Uni were unfortunately on the more conservative side. Uni also seems to be hit or miss, but luckily the uni during my visit had a nice creaminess and natural sweetness to it, characteristic of Santa Barbara Uni. Quality of the Salmon Belly was good too as it had a buttery texture. The seaweed managed to stay crisp as well thanks to the fact they're individually protected in plastic. I wish the rice was a little warmer to contrast the cool fish more though, but at least it wasn't mushy.
