El Cafe Real - San Juan Capistrano

This is a gem that I don't think everyone knows about!  We chose a selection of tapas and everything we had was wonderful. Our only negative is that our cocktails were very expensive. We ate in the beautiful courtyard while a guitarist played and sang at a perfect dinner volume.

Slow service. I indicated on my reservation that I was bringing my daughter in for a birthday and no one made her feel special. Took way too long for drinks to be served.

I was very disappointed with the food and will not be returning.

The food was good not great. Nice setting. Nice staff.

Had a later dinner. Sat outside after the live music finished. Inside had a big crowd at the bar and their voices carried. It would have been challenging to have a quiet dinner. Outside was perfect. A bit chilly, so the waiter brought me a blanket. Jeffrey was on top of it and very helpful. He even had us checked in to our hotel while we had dinner. The hotel is attached. The food and drinks were really good. The courtyard looks smaller and more charming in the photos, but it was nice to sit outside on such a nice night. It was warmer earlier. We sat at 9pm and it got cooler. The bar was lively and fun. We were staying there for a weekend wedding.
