When we placed the order, the waitress said $28 is for 1 way, 2 ways is $33. I pointed to the price on the menu, the waitress impatiently said “I am telling you the price is $33 now, $5 more.” If they increased the price, the restaurant must update their menu to reflect the new price. A waitress brought the whole duck Duck on a cart near our table and carved it in front of us. The Food Code requires all employees who work with food must wear hair restraints that keep their hair from contacting exposed food..... This waitress wears a long pony tail and she did not wear a hat or hair nets to comply with the food code. The food was salty with lots of MSG. Service was close to none here. Be prepared to wave down the waiter if you need anything. Definitely will not return to this restaurant again!
This is a busy business with delicious food and ok service. Not only are the tastes wonderful and authentic (HongKong in San Leandro), there is a lot of variety. Of course, it gets crowded and there is always a queue on weekend mornings; but just plan on encountering a queue or come at 10 a.m. A plus is a well stocked asian grocery next door with fresh vegetables and seafood for before or after shopping.
This restaurant’s Dim Sum is BOMB! It is super flavorful and the portions are good. 4 ratings their customer service is not the best. I highly recommend bringing a friend who can speak Cantonese. This will make ordering easier! We ordered: Steamed Pork Siu Mai My favorite! 5/5 Baked Egg Custard Buns They look like a pineapple bun but they have an egg custard surprise inside them. 5/5 Baked B.B.Q. Pork Buns Pretty good, lots of meat filling inside. 4/5 Baked Egg Custrart (aka egg tart) They are too buttery for me. 3/5 Pan Fried Turnip Soft Cake Not too oily. 4/5 Steamed Rice Noodle Roll w/ Beef Delicious, especially with the sweet soy sauce. It just melts on your tongue. 5/5
Having dinner with my family at Pearl Bay Tea House . Love the lobster chew mein are good! If you have chance go to San Leandra, California , you should try this place.
It's really difficult to find a dim sum place that is reasonably priced, tasty, and has great service. This place is 2 out of 3. Delicious food at a decent price, but the service lacks. You have to be pretty aggressive to wave down one of the service if you need something after you've already ordered. This place gets crowded fast, so come early! Parking gets a bit congested too, especially peak lunch hoirs and weekends.
