Rock Roll Sushi - San Leandro

I really enjoy coming here for the Tiger rolls. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients they use. While I often opt for takeout, today I decided to dine in for lunch, and it was nice and peaceful. They do a great job of keeping the tables clean once people finish their meals. Overall, I would rate the food 5 out of 5.

I had a great dinner at Rock Roll Sushi! They offer an amazing variety of rolls, but my top recommendation is the Spicy Rock Roll Ramen. I believe it's the best ramen in San Leandro, and every time I have a bowl, I find myself eagerly anticipating my next visit. Additionally, the service was attentive and friendly, and the music selection was fantastic. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and I can’t wait to go back!

This has been our favorite local sushi spot for a while, even during covid we used to order for pick up at all times, and we love-d this place, but unfortunately the last couple of times we have been there they have been a little disappointing, and it breaks my heart because their prices are amazing! And the food used to be good, but we have noticed a downgrade in service, cleanliness and the freshness of the ingredients, and that's why I'm writing this review today. When we stop by it's usually during lunch hours, we were there Saturday around 3 pm, when we sat the table was sticky, even the menu was dirty.And the service wasn't the best either, the server seemed to be distracted and we had to remind him for things constantly, there were 3 tables being served it wasn't busy) but he seemed to be somewhere else, we were patient and reminded him things kindly and that wasn't a big deal, he wasn't rude or anything just distracted)Then I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it reminded me a lot of Bart's public restrooms, the smell and everything! We pulled through our meal, and it was good in general just wasn't as fresh as it usually is, maybe is the inflation and the high price of things but we can notice a big downfall on the restaurant overall.It breaks saddens me because they can do way better, they were sooo good!!! And I don't know if there has been a change of management/ ownership but this place is not the same as it was.I would love to see improvements and maybe this place needs someone who pays close attention to details. Looking forward to see improvements, I just miss the old rock Roll prime time.

Avoid their expensive items like sashimi/ nigiri and stick with their cheaper rolls and bento if you absolutely have to get food here. Their ingredients are not fresh.The sashimi/ nigiri here do not sell well and because of that, the ingredients for are not fresh. I noticed their price for sashimi dinner was almost half the price of the other sushi place across town. I gambled and learned the hard way it was a case of you get what you pay for . Off the bat, they substituted pieces of fish filet with cheap frozen calamari filet and surf clam, both with consistency of pencil eraser. The actual pieces of fish sashimi that accompanied it were worse actually. Besides every piece being mushy and having the consistency of stale-taffy, they were not sliced like how sashimi should be prepared but carelessly cubed against the grain like carne asada.Had their Tammy 's roll as well, it was okay but quite overpriced and small for what you get at $18. Their wasabi is really strong and tastes like chemicals. I would wager if you left a drop of it on your skin for long enough, it 'd leave behind a chemical burn.

Food was okay...Server were nice except it took long to get our drink.. Sashima wasn't fresh.. It's our first time and wasn't satisfied at all...
