Gumby's Pizza - San Marcos

There are no vegan options available at this restaurant, which is disappointing.

I had been wanting pizza but didn't feel like making it myself. The restaurant's online menu didn't mention any vegan options, but when I called, they confirmed they had vegan cheese. The pizza was delicious! The only issue was that they were out of basil, but that wasn't a big deal for me; I just really wanted basil.

The pizza at this restaurant really elevated my dining experience from a 3-star review. The pizza rolls were delicious, but the Pickle Rick pizza was exceptional! Initially, I was considering giving it only 3 stars due to the service. I visited during lunchtime and the person at the counter seemed confused and unsure about how to prioritize tasks. I ended up waiting for over 30 minutes for my pizza while sitting in the lobby. When I inquired about my order, he went to check in the back and returned shortly after with my pizza, which was actually ready but no one had informed me. It had started to get cold by then, which is why one slice is missing in my photo. Despite the service hiccup, I would be willing to give this place another chance because the pizza dough and toppings were really delicious. I recommend giving it a try!

I highly recommend Gumby's Pizza! Their specialty pizzas, such as the 'Stoner Pie' (topped with pepperoni, mozzarella sticks, bacon, french fries, extra mozzarella) and 'The Pickle Rick' (featuring ranch, dill pickles, mozzarella cheese, dill, ricotta dollops, and a ranch swirl) are fantastic. I was skeptical about a pickle and ranch pizza at first, but after trying it, I can't wait to order it again. The customer service both over the phone and in the restaurant was very friendly.

I had a decent experience with the pizza at this restaurant! I liked the texture and flavor. The only thing I didn't like was the oregano sprinkled on my cheese pizza. I don't think it's necessary. I recommend saving your money as less is more. I wasn't aware of this before, so I will make sure to ask for no oregano on my cheese pizzas in the future. There are plenty of creative menu options to come back for and a good variety of drinks available.
