The football players from San Marcos nights had a great time getting awards and having a very simple menu for all to enjoy. Thank you players sports grill for contribution. I look forward to going back and trying the chicken wings!
It was a reunion, meet and greet for San Marcos High. It was really the young man in charge of the patio was so nice, very good service
Players is really the ultimate family-owned, authentic sports bar. It has a great atmosphere, great food, and the staff is super friendly. At a time where there are a bunch of chain operated, corporate sports bars opening up (with $20 hamburgers and such), it 's nice to know there are restaurants like Players out there. Can 't recommend this place enough.
On Sunday stopped to see a game to get a beer and lunch. I sat by the pool table. Apparently, when the patriots play, they cover the tables with plywood, so the owner and the other 12 other patriots friends/fans have extra space. It was just me and another person sitting on the two covered pool tables. After about 15 minutes the manager came by and started removing plywood from one of the pool tables, so I moved to a side area at the pool table. He asked if I had helped, and I said no. 10 minutes left and no service yet. I finally went to a table through the kitchen and sat down and thought I could get service. 10 minutes left and I'll hold a server. She said the spear for my table was at lunch, but she could bring me a drink. I ordered a drink and asked for a menu when she came back, I told her I was at a pool table for over 25 minutes and was never served. She apologizes and explains that while patriot games are the self-service areas. Anyway, I waited another 20 minutes and still no server for food. Finally, I slender another server and ask her I can trouble you to put in a food order, she said it wasn't her table that my server was on lunch and that she should be back soon. About five minutes pass and the same server comes back and says it will take my order. Very nice of her to get out of the way. After receiving my order, I see the actual server for my section. She doesn't throw my bill a word that never asks if I needed anything. For the next 30 minutes, my server never stops at my table, but pays attention to its other tables. Finally, can I stop them and ask if I'm worried about some water? I have my water, but she never filled it up again. So obviously player policy is that you do not receive service when sitting at the pool tables during a patriot game. You will not receive any service if the server is for your table on lunch. You don't get a service if you don't ask. And apparently player servers think they should get tips no matter what! TIPS stands for To Insure Prompt Service. No quick service no tip!! Perhaps the owner must mature responsible type qualified men and women server and back away from his old school sexiest renting only cute young girls philosophy! Btw Club Sandwich was okay, but Tater-Tarts were disgusting!
Should probably be 4 stars because of very uneven service, but I will benefit the doubt. Eating was always good, loving her wings. My proposal to possess the property is to be prepared for well-known times. The worst time I went was a padres playoff game and we sat there through 1 full inning (fixed 15 minutes) before recognition. As long as this aspect improves, this is a firm place. I was kind of worried about the ambience it looks dark from the outside, but it's not too shameful at all!
