I recommend purchasing an umbrella from the shop for sunny days like this. There were plenty of shaded areas and hydration stations, so it was still a memorable visit!
While there, we managed to visit two galleries: the library and the American art gallery. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, and there were some fascinating exhibits to see. For lunch, we dined at the 1919 Café and I highly recommend the shrimp aguachile. The food was excellent with plenty of options, though it was a bit on the pricey side. We also enjoyed browsing their thoughtfully curated gift shop, where it was hard to choose what to buy! Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Huntington and highly recommend it to others.
As you wander through the gardens, the warm August weather adds to the allure, making it the perfect time for leisurely strolls and picnics amid the stunning scenery. The tranquility of the Chinese Garden is amplified by the calm lake and traditional architecture. Inside the art museum, the exhibitions present a captivating mix of culture and history, offering a welcome break from the outdoor splendor. The chance to immerse yourself in world-class art and culture while surrounded by the gardens is truly unique. Whether you are a nature lover, an art enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful and enchanting escape, The Huntington in August delivers an unforgettable experience. The combination of botanical beauty, cultural depth, and warm summer days makes this the ideal time to visit this renowned institution. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the magic of The Huntington in August.
Absolutely love this place. Well organized, exquisitely maintained, and there's always something being added, repaired, or improved. The staff are always friendly and patient when I interact with them and it's never too busy to feel like you're unwelcome.Perfect for family walks, taking your grandparents to get some exercise, afternoon tea, a picnic, or just relaxing on the grass to get some sun. The food can be pricey but the Chinese garden restaurant has some great options. The BBQ jackfruit vegan sandwich and the noodles are highly recommended.Make sure to make an appointment in advance if you want to visit during high-traffic periods.
This place is amazing! I took my 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son and we all loved it. We were here for 5 hours and could have stayed for many more. Such a huge variety of plants. Very well maintained. We loved the gardens and the museums! Would highly recommend adding this to your list of places to go near LA!!!
