Shake Shack - San Mateo

Management: took forever to order one burger, fries, and chicken bites. Approx 20 min. I see staff waiting around for the food to finish cooking and customers kept asking is is my order ready . It is not a fast food restaurant. Took forever.

Honestly and sincerely the quality of the burgers you receive at each Shake Shack location can vary widely. For instance, when I visited New York City a few years ago, I thought their Smoke Shack burger was amazing, specifically the patty and how it all the ingredients blended together.Coming to their Hillsdale mall location a few weeks ago, I essentially duplicated my order from my NYC trip and I walked away feeling empty and still hungry to boot. As analytical as I can be, I point to the beef patty as the culprit between the discrepancy. It's typically a madhouse here, especially on the weekends. I suggest you order via their app and expect to wait quite a while before you venture over to pick up your order. With this type of food, it's also would be to your benefit to devour your petit burger and fries as quickly as you pick up your order, as the ingredients have a tendency to meld together over time.

Nope. Tastes like wax. Burgers just tasted so weird. Service was okay. They were doing their best with very short staff in the evening. But it’s gonna be a HELL NO! for me on the burgers. Bye.

I am a vegan. I ordered a veggie patty with no crispy onions, no cheese and no shake shack sauce with a lettuce wrap, pickles, and added avocado. Along with the non dairy shake and regular fries. They brought out my first burger with the shake shavk sauce, which has eggs. So I returned it and said "hey I 'm vegan so I cannot have this. They took it back. After another 10 minutes of waiting, I get my name called only to have this burger have cheese in it. I was on my lunch break and felt so unhappy. I felt like no one cared about my dietary restrictions and I will genuinely not be returning to this place again. I got my refund for my burger and left. Worst service ever.Dietary restrictions: They didn 't care that I was vegan and seemed to make a sick joke of it

Decided to come here since I was in the area. Lettuce wrapped veggie patty. It was good I lived there dipping sauce very flavorful.
