When you’re in Richmond and craving a burger I would think one would go straight to In-N-Out to get their burger on. As for me I went to Alex’s Giant Burger. It says J K but it’s Alex now; I betcha the previous owner(s) was probably cool. The first time I saw this place I noticed the quarter pounder sign and I thought Quarter Pounder from Hayward. This is not a franchise of Quarter Pounder. As you walk into the place you notice right away it is tiny and cozy. There is a fryer and a grill and the owners are a middle-aged Asian couple. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo which came out to $10-12. When I received my order I noticed my drink was filled all the way up to the brim, ice-cold, without much ice. As I got home and unpacked my meal I noticed a hole in my container. There was a hole because when they closed it it wouldn’t condense and make the fries and buns soggy! Oh my gosh that was so freakin thoughtful !!! Then on top of that they wrapped up their ketchup packets and salt with the napkins all rolled up nicely. The burger was open-faced where all the ingredients were strategically placed. The presentation was fabulous and the burger was really good. For the rest of independent burger joints this by far, in Richmond, does a great job. The fries were not too hot to where you’re scorching your tongue and the burger was flavorful. I recommend this place as an alternative from the burgers you’re used to and it is worth the money. I know I have to go back and try their breakfast and their sandwiches. Alex I’m glad you’re here and not J K because you make one fine burger.
