Bar Restaurante Zaguan - San Sebastian

We tried this place as we wanted a change from pinchos and the menu del dia looked good value. Sat on terrace first but found out we had to be inside for the 'menu ' not a problem and I can see why as this place is run by a husband and wife team (and I assume a chef! with him behind the bar topping up the pinchos and serving drinks and her waiting all of the tables. Managed to grab a table inside as this place was full of old Spanish boys having lunch. We enjoyed our lunch and thought it was great value I really don 't know what people on here expect when they pay 15 euros for a three course meal with wine? Paella starter was tasty and plentiful and I had a half roast chicken and chips and hubby a thin steak. Fruit or packet dessert but who cares it was 15 euros! Wine was a bit rough, but again it was cheap and we drank it! Great place and just what we were looking for visit if you want proper Spain rather than a tourist haunt.

Please don't eat here. Rude, rude staff, blah food. Worst restaurant experience in San Sebastian. Over 180 bars in town pick one at random and you'll be glad you didn't waste your time and money here.

Pinxtos looked good but we had €15 menu. Very poor, paella tasted burnt, chicken dry, greasy chips. Poor quality wine, stale bread. Worse, the men’s toilet was filthy. Saw a cockroach run across the restaurant floor. Avoid

Hemos venido a pasar un día en San Sebastián y, cuando buscamos un lugar para comer y ver todo lleno, hemos entrado aquí. Ellos han sido un encanto con nosotros, los pintxos eran muy buenos y prácticamente no había nadie, que agradecimos en el momento de covid. Sólo hemos querido añadir una recomendación porque la hemos visto completa, excepto este lugar. Es un bar familiar, toda la vida, pequeño.

Ham real croquette, mientras que los otros sitios son puro bechamel. auténtica pero falta de variedad y la atmósfera de la zona, pero el comisario es bueno y sabe casero. No ganan el mejor premio en el servicio, pero más por falta de camareros que cualquier otra cosa.
