Excellent food and excellent service and guided by a passionate chef. Would recommend. The set menu was great and each dish was perfectly prepared.
Unbelievable experience! Monsieur Pascale is one of the most friendly, knowledgeable and friendly hosts we met in our trips along the French Riviera and this beautiful dinner was delicious and unforgettable. The views are a well maintained and very romantic atmosphere. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and enjoyed our dinner. Very recommended!
The restaurant has a lovely location, just by the waterside. The menu online is not the same as online however, and the dishes don't follow the same cadence. We ordered the octopus salad, and it was of an ungainly size (it was from the Bistro menu). The tomatoes were very hard and tasteless, something very hard to achieve in the South of France! The dish as a whole lacked seasoning. The fish of the day was a fillet of sea bass. There was no colour or texture on the skin of the fish and the fish was barely cooked. The pomme puree was lumpy and again, the dish lacked seasoning. The crab starter tasted lovely, but lacked something with crunch to offset the creaminess. The malfedini pasta with girolles was good, but not spectacular. The service was good and the wine was also good, although €8.50 for a litre of sparkling water was on the more expensive side. Overall, we were underwhelmed by our visit to La Joia. I appreciate it's out of season, but if the restaurant is unble to maintain standards whilst open, it may be time to reconsider their approach.
