Montalbano Farms - Sandwich

If you're looking for an excellent Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) option, your search is over! For the last three years, I’ve had the pleasure of receiving a fantastic selection of vegetables every week during the season. Farmer Rob, Christina, and their team are doing a remarkable job. Each week, the variety in the boxes is impressive, and this year, the customizable option adds an exciting element. Personally, I love choosing a mixed box and then picking a few essential items each week.

The Montalbano Farms CSA program is outstanding! We became members three years ago after moving to Chicago, and we are thrilled with the fresh produce we receive during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. They offer a variety of options for their CSA, including customizable weekly shares and traditional weekly or biweekly boxes available in different sizes. If you happen to miss a week, it's not a problem at all. Plus, they have numerous pickup locations throughout the city, which are typically conveniently situated near public transportation.

Even though this is my first year visiting Montalbano Farms, I can say without a doubt that I will be back. The produce is exceptional—far better than anything I’ve found in grocery stores. Not only does it look amazing, but the flavor is outstanding as well. You can tell that it is grown with great care. Farmer Rob and Farmer Christina are genuinely wonderful people, which is the highest compliment I can give. They’re more than just farmers; they are friends who truly care about your health and well-being. They welcome feedback and are open to new ideas for improving their service, which is a refreshing attitude these days. I highly recommend Montalbano Farms to everyone. They are truly worth it, and so are you.

What a wonderful CSA! This was our first year doing it and we loved every week. It was great to be able to choose your own produce and I suspect next year will be even better now that they have some data to work with as to what to grow more of. Probably my favorite thing was the braising mix (baby kale, chard, and other greens) that you could cook up for a nice meal in itself. The carrots in Oct were the sweetest I've ever had. My friends and family all loved the produce that I would share. The best thing about this CSA is the fact that you can place multiple orders for different drop sites. Having family spread across Chicagoland, I was able to share local produced with anyone who wanted to try! Keep it up!

This was my first year and I will be back! The produce is organic, flavorful and beautiful. Farmer Rob and Farmer Christina are just the best!
