Feedback gevenThis is undoubtedly the best restaurant on Sanibel Island. The service was exceptional, and the food was even more impressive. If you're seeking a genuinely romantic and extraordinary dining experience, you absolutely must visit this place.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner's wife, who made us feel welcome. The restaurant is immaculately clean and tastefully decorated in a charming French style, complete with lovely tablecloths and fine dining settings. The presence of Himalayan pink salt on the tables was a nice touch, aligning well with our focus on healthier options. Right from the start, we felt relaxed and valued as customers. Our server, Isabel, set a positive tone for the evening. She was attentive and informed us, as first-time visitors, about the menu options and specialties. Isabel highlighted some early evening specials, which we appreciated. After reviewing the menu, we made our selections. Ms. FussBudget began with the Escargot and a glass of the house Pinot Noir, while I opted for the best tap water on Sanibel— a typical budget-friendly choice. After years of resolutely refusing, I finally tasted the Escargot at Ms. FussBudget’s urging. To my surprise, it was quite good! For our main courses, Ms. FussBudget chose Veal Marengo, and I went with the Beef Bourguignon. We were served delicious French bread rolls with butter, accompanied by a house salad (with vinaigrette as the only dressing option). The food was absolutely delicious, making it worth pushing the limits of our budget. We were too full for dessert, which I have no doubt would have been fantastic. Overall, our meal before taxes and tips came to $107. Ms. FussBudget enjoyed the house Pinot Noir so much that she had two glasses. We had two excellent entrees, an appetizer, and two glasses of wine for that price—not bad at all! The quality of the food contributed significantly to the lovely evening we had. Kudos to Bleu Rendez Vous French Bistro! We will definitely return.
The French cuisine is beautifully crafted, with excellent early restaurant specialties. The beef Bourguignon was outstanding! The desserts were decent, but I recommend saving your calories for the appetizers and main courses. The ambiance and the building could use a touch of authenticity, as it doesn't quite capture the right feel.

Menu features ?Bleu Inspirations? that change, along with staple items such as Boef Borguignon, Coq au Vin, Ris de Veau, trout almandine, and many more. Appetizers range from chef?s made pât?, froie gras two ways, escargot, marrow bones, onion soup, etc. A wide variety of wines available from varying regions and price points. To-Go orders on select items are available, too!
