Feedback gevenI write about our very disappointing stay in casa ybel. what was billed as a luxury resort turned out to be much less than expected. at the price of the room during the next season I expected a very nice and upscale hotel experience. their website is misleading and a few well located photos hide a lot of details that would have led us not to book a stay in their hotel. we did not receive any near expectations. we knew when we checked in, we couldn't stay in the same room for the three days. we were booked for a night in a bedroom and had to move into a bedroom for the next two nights. we checked into the two bedrooms and are immediately disappointed with the cleanliness of the villa. it had run down and was not very clean. when we went to the terrace, we were surprised to see how dirty the sliding door was and there were various other elements that felt that this resort would be much less stellar than what we thought based on their website and earlier reviews. for $489/night for the room I would have expected much better! we had a coffee pot that was totally not intuitiw and we couldn't find out how to use it. we called the reception and they said there should be instructions in the room, there was none. we then went to the reception and were told that they had no idea how they used it, then continued to tell us to go to jerry and find coffee. then my sister went the coffee pot to the recipe to make a declaration, and finally a maintenance person was sent to the room to show how to use. the leaves were of low quality and the soils were stained. we received a call this evening and said we had to move the next day, and we should have packed our bags and someone would move our bags. we had planned a day of outrage, so when we got a call over, we told them to go ahead and move our bags. when we returned to the resort, I went to the reception and was met with a confused look by the woman at the reception, which took 20 minutes to find our new room task and to give us keys. when we came to the new room, a bedroom at the sea, I was surprised to see the persistent drab and some dirty feeling of the room. it also had a completely different feeling than the two bedrooms, different coffee makers, different bath amenities that led me to the conclusion that this is not a well-run contiguous resort, but a hodgepodge of different mie units. not everything that was advertised. when I opened the refrigerator door, I was anecrated to see dirt and crumbs on the upper shelf that had not been cleaned. the next morning, when we were looking for tellers and were unable to find any in the cabinets, we realized that the dishwasher was not emptied and we could not say if it was executed. for $418/night, that was a scandal. we own a marriott time share and cleanliness and love to detail are so much more than what we have experienced in casa ybel! I also work for a company that operates hotels and entertainment and knows how customer service and clean rooms look, and their resort had neither. when I asked for a discounted price on the room for all the above reasons, I was told that I should write to the head of the reception. Although I wrote several times, I never received a reply.you the only bright spot throughout the stay were our dinner at thistle lodge. amy our waitress was friendly and friendly, as well as the barkeepers and others.
Casa Ybel is an amazing place with a good pool and a great location with a beach close bye and has a perfect location to get anywhere else in Sanibel, the rooms are also very spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend!
Yes the rooms need updating and the service is not good but it is the view from the room balcony that keeps me returning again and again .I have already booked for later this year .Perhaps management would like to give staff more support so that the experience can be improved .A few smiling faces would help .
The hotel has very beautiful facilities, beautiful hotel, you pay $500 per night when you arrive at the hotel they charge you everything apart from the sun lounger, the umbrella, the house kepping, the towels, then they do not give you new towels if you call or soap . they say that the service is given by hilton that is not through the hotel even if you buy through the hotel. the hotel and how beautiful it is does not match the service. very bad service not friendly. they have to organize if it is hilton or the hotel I buy or book through the hotel they told me every time I called for help or service. I feel really disappointed for the price I pay and the service we received . Better hotel and services in sanibel .
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Casa Ybel Resort. Our suite was the cleanest room ever. Every sheet, blanket, etc. The resort was so peaceful as well as our suite. We will definitely recommend this resort to others.
