Feedback gevenRanchero Kiki is a great alternative at restaurants on the marina, Great roasted chickens with fabulous salsa and sides.
After reading these reviews, we walked the entire length of Calzada Puerto Maya and never found this place. Today, we walked again, with the address (M8, L20, Local 3) on a piece of paper. We found the address marker for "M8 and L20" and saw the building houses 4 business, three of which are functioning (and one business is not). These functioning businesses are: Willy's variety store, Mini supermarket (Local #2), and Adventure Fitness. Next to the mini market #2, is a closed up and shuttered business, all identification is removed from the store front. We asked the mini market owner if the business next door to him was still functioning and he replied that it was not. No more, all gone. Cerrado. Anyway, I hate to be the bringer of bad news (seems I have done a lot of that lately). Sorry. The reviews made this sound like a place I would frequent very often; I imagined it to be maybe like the El Pollo Loco chain in the USA. In the meantime, I suppose we'll have to continue buying our rotisserie chickens from Sam's Club. This business would have (and in the past probably was) been located down the road from the big pedestrian cross-over bridge. This is in the ungated part of Puerto Aventuras which is on the other side (Caribbean side) of the highway. No regrets, even if the business wasn't there anymore. It was nice to see such a busy, thriving community of people living, going to schools, lots of small businesses we plan to frequent, and all so close to the Super Chedraui supermarket.
Ranchero Kiki serves up delicious split-roasted chickens with fabulous salsa and sides. A bit more expensive than your run of the mill grocery store roasters that can be found here, but well worth it!!
This is just what my town needed! A good place with honest, reasonably priced food! Ranchero Kiki is a great alternative to all the over priced restaurants on the marina.Yes, the menu is limited, but this is not a fancy place. Great roasted chickens, different sauces to choose from and 2 sides for less than $10 USD, that is a deal and they are tasty! I ordered the Kiki chicken, a whole chicken with a nice adobo sauce and nopales (chopped cactus plant), refried beans with chorizo and a dash of cumin and a nice coleslaw. The other side are potatoes and rice which I will try in my next visit. Warm tortillas and 4 different salsas are available, habanero salsa, pineapple and chile de arbol, a tomato sauce (not hot) and a mango-jalapeño relish, totally delicious! The place is spotless and the sitting area is limited.Open from 12 P.M. to 7 P.M. from Monday to Saturday and they also told me delivery will be available soon!
We have been coming to Puerto Aventuras for years and always try out the local chicken places in town. This past visit we discovered Ranchero Kiki, ate there two times during our week-long stay and by far, there is no better place to have chicken in Puerto Aventuras or Playa del Carmen. The first time we ate at the restaurant. The location was clean and the girls who run the restaurant are friendly and always anxious to please. The second time we carried-out and took it back to our condo. The chicken, beans, slaw and sauces were well-packaged above any other place we have tried. Both times the food was consistently good with the main attraction, the chicken, being juicy and well-seasoned with a selection of great side sauces to choose from. We highly recommend this place for a great meal at a great price!
