The ice is freshly shaved and was very smooth and fluffy. The syrups are freshly made. I tried the lychee and Tigers Blood (strawberry and coconut). They weren't too sweet and tasted just like ripe fruit. I also added some azuki beans which were a nice contrast to the ice. A small order was more than plenty for me and ended up being bigger than the example shown. Even though it was an overcast day the ice melts fast so this is not something to take and eat later. The have a restroom for customers and there are a few tables outside of the restaurant and on the plaza to sit down and enjoy this treat. It's a small shop and there is no room inside the store to eat. The person working there was very friendly and patient as I decided what to order.
There were an abundance of flavors to choose from! however, the blood orange only vaguely tasted likeReal blood orange, it was mainly just sweet. Way. Too. Sweet. The passion fruit didn’t taste much like passion fruit either, and it was also too sweet, less so than the blood orange. If I had to choose one of the two, it’d be passion fruit.I asked for cookies and cream ice cream, but I was given vanilla bean.. which kinda sucked the vanilla bean was also incredibly sweet. Everything just tasted like sugar . it didn’t seem to be busy at the time, and there were two people working, so I don’t think it was because the one at the register had too many other things to do. Perhaps the one making my order didn’t check it right.. but that’s not exactly a great excuse. I really wanted that cookies and cream, but it’s not like it ruined it all for me.At least the workers seemed pleasant! And they pronounced my name right, so I’m just going to assume they spelled it right too. I’m not certain I’d go there again though, their prices are more than I’d expect for what is essentially sugared ice. Then again, it was in Santa Barbara… so.. yeah. Next time I think I’ll head for McConnell’s! :D
Located along the main drag of the city, ParadICE is the perfect place to stop in for a quick refreshing treat on a hot summer day. Everything is made fresh in house, starting with their ice blocks, which are made with purified water. Their syrups are made with real fruit, organic cane sugar, and water, so there's no need to worry about high fructose corn syrup or any artificial flavoring/coloring. I ordered a small $5), and I could choose up to three flavors, so I went with passion fruit, guava, and piña colada which was perfect because I couldn't decide between pineapple or coconut). The ice was fluffy like fresh powdered snow and tasted so clean. The syrups tasted like freshly crushed fruit, and they weren't too sweet, which is always a plus for me. The best part was when everything melted and blended together because it turned into a tasty little drink at the end.
Glad we stumbled upon this place. We were browsing the shops around the area and saw a sign for shaved ice. I decided to get lychee and passion fruit. It was super refreshing and reminded me of the shaved ice in Hawaii.
This is authentic Hawaiian Shave Ice! Not "shaved" ice or blended ice—it's the genuine SHAVE ICE! The ice is fluffy and melts in your mouth. They offer a wide variety of flavors and toppings, and you can even choose an ice cream base. I decided to keep it simple with just pineapple and POG, and it was incredibly refreshing! This shop also serves coffee and other snacks, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
