Sushi 29 - Santa Barbara

So my son and I were in Santa Barbara and looking for a sushi place to eat. Last minute we found Sushi 29 and it didn't disappoint!!! Even though they closed in 30 minutes the staff still offered the best service ever. They were professional and the food was amazing!!! My son is 11 and loved everything we ordered!!! We will definitely visit here again next time we are in SB!!!!

Tokoyaki are crunchy and savory. For curry omelet rice, rice is cooked perfectly, chicken cutlet is crunchy outside and soft inside, curry is fair, good that they put mushroom in and bad that its not concentrate enough. I will come again.

The sushi itself was good but the limited menu was a little frustrating. They blamed it on short staff but forced us to order stuff we didn’t want bc it came packaged with other things. Would’ve made more sense to have a limited menu but make it a la carte so we could’ve ordered exactly what we wanted.

Way overated place. Super expensive, low quality sushi. Customer service is ok. They charge for everything. You want ginger? Charge. You want ponzu? Charge. You napkins? Charge. Never coming here again.

Disappointing experience. Went for lunch and ordered the pork tenderloin donburi with miso soup. The miso was average but for the price I expected more. The pork in the donburi was overcooked and tough to chew as was all the fat left on the meat. The sauce was generic and uninspired (just sugar and soy sauce) coupled with a bitter aftertaste. The only redeeming quality of the meal was the colorful presentation. Maybe I should have tried the sushi, then I might have been less disappointed.
