The prices are reasonable. They always have disco music playing and I wouldn't want it any other way. It's truly as quirky Santa Cruz gem.
The staff was really friendly! The food would have been great, but they microwaved our nachos and it made them soggy, yet with a stale texture. There was just no need to microwave them. The cheese would have melted under the hot beans.
Food is quality, BUT they are the worst taqueria in town when you compare prices and customer service. The prices reflect the organic ingredients... doesn't make it okay to price gouge you on literally everything else. Chips $2 salsa $1 sour cream $1 avocado $2 on and on. Unless you eat all your Mexican food w/only meat(A meat quality, but they make sure to put hardly any of it), beans, rice(they add tons of rice so they can skimp on meat), and lettuce...you'll be spending far too much on a simple meal. SC local for 25yrs, they need some improvement before I will support them regularly. Try La Hacienda, Palomar, or Salsas before Viva's
Tortas with Carne asaada is the best. Service fast and beautiful. Not expensive. What do you want?
Vegan Burrito is my favorite visit, they also have vegetarian options, fish and other meats. You also have drinks options. The best is the picturesque corner environment they have in the restaurant. It is simple but clean and brings you into a quieter space regarless the funky crossing of the storage next.
