I always get the vegetarian green curry and it is amazing every time. it is also enough for two meals, so I can save the half for later. normally he gets one of the meat cures and a order of the tom kha suppe. I sometimes like to steal his suppe because it's so good. the one thing I'm going to make them aware of is that they should not underestimate the spicy! if you say you want something hot, they will take you very seriously! I recommend medium seasoning.
Fantastic!!! We had a hard time finding any authentic good tasting Asian food when we moved here from Seattle, but boy is this food good. This is real Thai food! forget all the other places in Santa Fe, come here if you want authenticity.
My husband ordered food from here and he absolutely loved it. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The owner was very nice and works there pretty much by herself, and does a great job all on her own. We can’t understand all the bad reviews. If you try to be more patient and nice to this lady that is doing this all by herself, you can truly appreciate all her hard work and care that she puts into the dishes. My husband had chicken pot stickers, chicken curry fried rice, chicken laab, and chicken panang, and loved everything. We will definitely be ordering from them in the near future.
The food was just ok, not special. I ordered pad Thai beef and it was sweet. There was no mention of sugar or sweetness on the menu. I asked for spice level 1 and it was not spicy. My companions ordered pad thai chicken spice level 4. He could barely eat it and he did not finish it. We also ordered drunken noodles which was much better. The portions are modest. The steamed chicken pot stickers appetizer was just ok as well. There is no dine in service right now due to covid. Service and staff were just ok.
My first time, the lady at the register – who I believe is the owner – was quite friendly and pleasant. While the wait was long, we had a nice conversation. She mentioned covid was hurting her business and that she’d like more customers. Consequently, I made a point to return a few days later. My second experience was shockingly different. The same person attended me, but this time she was curt and distant. When I asked a question, she snapped an unfriendly response. It was so off putting I only ordered a fraction of what I had intended. The food both times was tasty, if a little too sweet. The rice, however, was globby and dry in the mango sticky rice dessert it was a hardened gelatinous ball that proved hard to eat. The chicken was fresh in both dishes (tum yum soup and red curry), but there was very, very little of it. I counted about seven slivers in a large bowl of soup with little to no vegetables – so it was basically like consuming a large bowl of broth. The flavor was good nevertheless. The red curry was surprisingly not red, creamy nor curry flavored – instead it was a brown gravy maybe I was given the wrong order? Curiously, the restaurant requires guests wait outside for their order, but themselves don’t wear masks when cooking the food. On a final note, they don’t have a bell or system to alert when customers enter which means a long, at times exasperating, wait. It’s an inconvenience, which, when added to the unfriendliness and food issues weighs strongly against this establishment. I’m sorry to say I can’t recommend Thai Café and Noodle Treats and won’t be returning here.
