The restaurant is located directly on the beach of El Adoquín. The aguachile and huachinango are to die...for. Check out this restaurant when you visit Puerto Escondido.
Los Crotos is right on the beach at the Playa Principal and the ambiance is decent. The evening we went we were one of two groups in the restaurant; however, even given that relative dearth of people, the service was not great. Three of us...had shrimp, one ordering the cheese and bacon wrapped version for 300 pesos and the other two the grilled shrimp, with a small serving of veggies and rice, for 148. All of us thought the enormous plate of grilled shrimp was great value. The bacon wrapped version, however, was way too salty. Although one of my friends felt her shrimp was overcooked, I enjoyed my dinner. Overall, the experience was pretty good; the place would be nicer with more attention to service and a more lively atmosphere.
Asked the waited if we could use a card an he say yea but when we got our check we couldn't use a card. Had to pay 10 U.S. dollars to use the nearest atm. The lobster was way to expensive for the size. Just...not good food also had a tiny piece of tuna that was way over cook with a spoon of rice not happy would not recommend.
I was so excited to go here and get lobster to my surprise it costs $380 which is absolutely ridiculous. So we get tuna filet which is a flimsy thin little piece of tuna with a little spoonful of rice. Also when we get there...we specifically ask if we can use a card to make sure, and then when it comes time to pay they don't have the machine and I have to go take out money at the machine down the street which charges to take out. Very unpleased.
Wife had steak, waiter looked at me after I ordered and said, your not having the lobster? . So I had lobster, three 1/2 lobsters to be exact, with the amenities for 190. Just a great meal for my third night in town.
