Tsukiji Sushi Sen - Santa Monica

I would say one of the worst sushi spots I have been to. I was told the salmon I had was the belly. Yet it was not it was chewy and still have the skin of the fish. I was disappointed that the server, host, and owner did not take it off the bill as I didn’t eat it and explained why. The server and host said they would check in about it but never came back. So I then spoke with the manager and he lied saying it was the belly. I have eaten sushi before and know what part of the fish I was eating… overpriced not worth it. Super bummed!

We were looking for a sushi place within walking distance. How had we walked by this place and never been in? We were greeted with a warm welcome by the whole staff, seated at a great table and immediately edamame and water were brought to the table. The place is cozy without being cluttered, and attracts a casual clientele that all seemed to be enjoying themselves. We ordered the Brussels sprout fries (which were not greasy and didn't feel fried! , house salad, the red dragon roll, the 911 roll (with brown rice and seaweed salad. Everything was very fresh and delicious! My partner got the green tea ice cream for dessert which looked like a banana split it was so big! We will definitely be back.

We came back to Tsukiji cause we love the atmosphere here and the food. But today we have the pleasure of getting served by Chris. He gives tip too customer service and his random voice impressions made us laugh the entire time. I will definitely come back for Chris

If you want good sushi and great service don't look any further! This is the place! Our server was super friendly and attentive. The menu has a great selection of food. The presentation was so pretty that I didn't want to eat the rolls : Kids got ramen, BBQ short ribs, my husband and I got the crispy rice with spicy tuna, and a couple of healthy rolls.

My girlfriend was in the mood for a sashimi salad so we dropped into the closest place we could find. After reading the reviews we have to agree that the service is so so and the portions small. My girlfriend enjoyed her sashimi salad but was not full. I ordered the beef teriyaki bowl and nearly choked on the meat. Obviously this is a fish joint. Overall good but a little pricey for what you get.
