Hozy's Grill - Santa Paula

I always have a fantastic meal here! The chef prepared a special appetizer of short rib taquitos, and for dinner, I enjoyed the roasted chicken.

The dining experience was fantastic, and I will definitely try other dishes in the future! We began with some incredible cocktails and a delicious appetizer.

Dining here is excellent, just like the service. The value is outstanding when you consider the quality and portion sizes! It's best to make a reservation if you want a table, as they fill up quickly. The cocktails are good, and the prices are reasonable. This place is a favorite of mine whenever I visit family in Oxnard!

Yummy food and nice waitstaff, but d*mn, if you’re not an exclusive regular (I’m unsure what the qualifications are for this club, I’ve been there 5+ times and I’m not in it), you don’t get seated at your reservation time, you don’t receive timely service, your food comes out last... we had a 7:30 res for 2, we ordered 2 appetizers, one shared entree, 1 bottle of wine. We arrived at 7:30, a booth was cleared for us, but after 15 minutes at the host stand, looking at our cleared booth for 12min, I had to ask if we could sit down. We were told sure, they just have to set up the table for us— all that was added to the table was app plates and silverware. At the table, Service was sweet, but spotty. We didn’t get our check until 9:40, 15 minutes after our plates had been cleared. We could see the whole restaurant from our booth— multiple larger groups who arrived after us received excellent and timely service, lots of personal conversations with waitstaff, ate, paid and left before we received our shared entree. Patrons and staff were gathered at the host stand chatting and blocking kitchen access, which is maddening to watch while growing more hangry waiting for an empty table to be set, or for apps, or for ordering dinner. It’s just crazy to me. This place could be so much more if it committed itself to excellent service for ALL patrons. Rant over, but jeeze. It wouldn’t take a lot to make customers feel less excluded.
