Boudin Bakery - Santa Rosa

My BFF and I are regulars at this restaurant. For the most part, the food is OK. Except last Saturday. Don 't know what the issue was, but we ordered two Asians Chicken salads to eat there. Mine was fine. However, my friend, a vegetarian, ordered her 's without the chicken, but with edamame, as she had done many times before. We paid and sat down. Then someone who works there came out and told us they no longer offer edamame. So, she was essentially paying for lettuce at $12.49. No offer to substitute, nothing. So we asked for Avocado. We were given 5 paper thin slices of avocado. And it clearly put out the server. Then, in looking at my salad and comparing to her 's, she noticed that I got almonds and she didn 't. So, had to go up and get almonds. I am having a hard time understanding how they could have essentially served her lettuce for the same price as I paid for mine which included chicken, almonds in a fairly full bowl. Even her bowl of food was maybe 1/2 of mine. They had a sign out saying that they needed staff. Well, they need more than they think since the staff they have need to go! Extraordinary poor service.

Delicious clam chowder in my favorite sourdough bread bowl, Yum! I love the spacious, clean vibe this place gives. Their sandwiches are also very delicious. You can get their famous sourdough bread in the shape of a large crab or turtle which is so much fun. They even have a baby turtle character that the kids love. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is gated which is a plus when you have little ones wanting to roam around. Clean restrooms and self served beverage area.

Boudin is one of those restaurants your company from out of state want to go to. I with hold my opinion to allow others to live the experience themselves. Every time, including this visit something goes wrong We ordered salads to go.. simple enough. Right? The Cesar salad croutons were burnt, not golden brown, black charcoal. I can pick them out and be ok. Then I saw that there was no dressing And I guess there was a shortage of parmesan cheese at Boudins. Had I looked in the bag and dug to the bottom to look at the salad I would have ask for a replacement. By the time we saw the salads no one was going back to complain. This was just this one visit. Make sure you look at your food if you order to go..

Been to several in the Bay area. All look the same, with similar menu. Easy to stand in line, check menu and order. We usually add a take home bread item too. Large English muffins this time. Go too, is grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Nicely done with bag of chips on the side. Prompt service and predictable. Lots of people, so it’s a bit scruffy as some people don’t pickup after themselves.

Came here about 7 pm on a Sunday, they had a lot of mobile orders waiting. They are on door dash and they accept Apple Pay. Food is always good, spent $40 bucks on two bread bowl soups and a soup and sandwich combo.
