Golden Bun - Santa Rosa

This little place opened a few years ago in my neighborhood and I love it because it is very good, affordable and the couple behind the counter is so sweet. Every time I go, there's an empty one and that's sad, because most places in downtown do not survive for any reason. There are only a few restaurants that are constant in my downtown area. Hope you're not close, you'll be missed.

I've been meaning to visit this restaurant for the past few weeks. I finally stopped by today and ordered a vegan ham bánh mì and a tofu bánh mì, along with some avocado spring rolls. The bánh mì sandwiches were quite tasty—I can't decide which one I liked better, but I would definitely order them again. The spring rolls were just okay. The owners were really friendly and offered great recommendations for food. Overall, a good experience, and they even have a Happy Cow sticker!

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after my CPR class, and I must say, it offered one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. Being Vietnamese, I've had my fair share of sandwiches in Vietnam and throughout California. The bread was perfectly toasted and wonderfully airy, while the pâté was spot on. Just like the authentic versions, they even included Vietnamese soy sauce! The price was moderate for a sandwich, but given the location, current inflation, and the exceptional quality, we found ourselves wishing we had ordered more. Keep in mind that it takes some time to prepare a fresh, high-quality sandwich, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Good things come to those who wait!
