The area is known for its stunning white sand beaches, vibrant arts scene, and a laid-back atmosphere that invites relaxation and enjoyment. One of the most iconic establishments in Grayton Beach is The Red Bar. Founded in 1995 by Oliver Petit, The Red Bar quickly became a beloved hotspot thanks to its unique ambiance, delicious food, and live music. Grayton Beach itself has a rich history, including its role as a haven for artists and bohemians in the early 20th century. The community has always been a place where creativity and free-spirited living are celebrated. The area also played a role during World War II as a training ground for troops due to its secluded beaches and dense forests. The Red Bar is open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with a popular happy hour from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. During happy hour, patrons can enjoy discounted drinks and special appetizers, making it the perfect time to unwind after a day at the beach. The bar also features live music every evening, adding to the vibrant and inviting atmosphere that has made The Red Bar a staple in Grayton Beach. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Red Bar offers a unique experience that captures the essence of Grayton Beach. With its eclectic décor, delicious food, and lively entertainment, it's no wonder that The Red Bar has become a beloved institution in this historic beach community.
We look forward to visiting the Red Bar every year after our fishing charge with Capt. Kyle.
The food was fantastic. I think it's a great idea for restaurants to have 6 items to choose from perfecting each item. I do wish they had a menu with pictures. My son ordered PANNE CHICKEN thinking it would be chicken with penne pasta. It was a very loud atmosphere. Too loud for conversation in my opinion. More of a party atmosphere than a romantic date feel. The band played until 9 p.m. There's limited parking around the restaurant so they have shuttle buses to parking in the surrounding areas. If there is a wait when you go, you can play the outdoor games nearby. Life size Connect four, Cornhole, life size Chess, etc.
Never would've believed no fried seafood in the evening at a restaurant that offers seafood a 3 iron from the sand....rest is great just seems odd to me..espically in the south...
