Overall i do not recommend this place the bathrooms stink too.
Great option for a day trip to Julian. Excellent food; I had the burger coleslaw and fries and it was delicious! We were a party of 5 and everyone was happy with their choices. They have many options if you have a sweet tooth, too!The Julian pie Co. is right behind the restaurant and there are really nice trails nearby. There is an EV charging station next to the restaurant.
If you went hiking or walking, eaters a good place to eat delicious tomato soup with basil and hamburger, accompanied by a good salad.
We had a party of 5 for lunch, and everyone was impressed with their meals. We had the fried pickles (long thin slices, not the standard coins), and Aussie fries (large thick potato boats loaded with all the toppings) to start with, and then clam chowder (phenomenal), grown-up grilled cheese, Barn on fire burger, BBQ Chicken, and hot chicken sandwich. Portions were generous and flavors were expertly paired. They also offered slices of pie from the Julian pie company (located right next door)for dessert. We enjoyed the caramel apple, Dutch apple, and mountain berry, all served warm, and topped with ice cream on request.A trip to Farmhouse 78 is worth the drive if your in the San Diego area. We dove over an hour to come here and it was totally worth the time.
Farmhouse is a must stop for food when in Julian. We love coming here everyone is so nice and welcoming. And the food is delicious! Get the hash browns you won’t regret it
