Oishii Japanese Thai - Santee

Did the check in today and the free appetizer spicy edamame wasn't honored. It's on the Yelp I guess they haven't removed it yet. I ordered it anyway because it's is usually so delicious along with the red curry and chicken. Spicy level 5. Was disappointed with both items. The edamame had way too much sesame pile and very little little and spice. The curry was also very little spice and watery. I'll be back for another taste n the future and see how things go.

This restaurant is a favorite for my family and me. There are plenty of Thai restaurants in our area, but Thai Thai truly stands out. The food is incredible, whether you dine in or get takeout – it’s always a great experience. The customer service is consistently excellent as well. They also offer a fantastic selection of beers and sake! I can’t recommend this place enough. Their spicy garlic edamame is literally the best I’ve ever tasted, and we always use that sauce on our rice and other dishes because it’s just that delicious. Some of our other go-to dishes include the Tom Kah soup, Pad Thai, spicy noodles, fried rice, egg rolls, spring rolls, and most recently, the orange chicken. I would rate it a perfect 10/10 – we don’t go anywhere else for Thai food in San Diego. Don’t overlook this hidden gem!

I came in for lunch around 1, I was seated right away with water. My order was taken quickly and my food came out promptly. My strawberry green tea had a tad bit too much purée, but I was able to water it down to enjoy it. My spring rolls were fresh and delicious. My bowl of pho was a great size! I will be back.

The restaurant offers both sushi and Thai cuisine. The interior is quite charming. While the customer service is adequate, it doesn't stand out as exceptional. When I checked in on Yelp, it indicated that I could get free spicy edamame. I mentioned this to the staff, but they informed me that the offer had expired. The Yelp listing didn’t specify an expiration date, and once redeemed, the restaurant should have removed it. If the offer is outdated, they should collaborate with Yelp to revise it or replace it with a different promotion. As for the sushi, the rolls without fresh fish were decent. We tried the crunchy roll, dragon roll, and eel roll, all of which were okay, but the rainbow roll was disappointing due to the lack of freshness in the fish.
