Unfortunately there were only spaces inside the restaurant, which wasn't a worry. Lots of typical Spanish couples and groups in the restuarant which I thought to be a good sign. We ordered a couple of raciones and felt that the portions were of good size we did order the calamares a la romana but found that it was not available. The service was a little slow but this was partly in due to the business of the restuarant. One important factor to state is that this restaurant doesn't accept card payments the staff looked horrified at the suggestion and highlighted an ATM close by.
Stopped on a whim just to have a beer, ended up staying for lunch and was lovely. Service fantastic, waiters running around to make sure everyone was OK. Food was tasty and came very prompt!
On a Monday evening of the day we finished walking 85 miles from Baiona to Santiago on El Camino, my wife and I stopped in here for an early (6:45pm) dinner. We were seriously zonked and needed food before heading back to our room to sleep forever. We discovered this place halfway between our hotel and the cathedral and decided to take a chance. We ordered the asparagus omelette and a plate of fried calamari and split the two dishes between us. The asparagus were delicious; we thought the calamari, while fresh and good, could have done with a few more spices in the breading. We finished our meal with their homemade caramel cake with whipped creme, with two spoons for sharing. Wonderful! This place is unimposing, but very friendly with prompt service and tasty food. And it was heavily frequented by locals, so our time there was a window into local Santiago life, including what looked like a weekly card game among older men at a nearby table, with wives watching from the next table while drinking coffees. Our dinner, including two sparkling waters, came to €16.90, which seemed a very good value.
