Feedback gevenWe got here because of a listicle in a popular touristic website called Mexico desconocido, although the website has some reputation, sometimes they can be limited in options that actually reflect the gastronomic culture of the cities you visit. However, this recommendation was just in point. We tried "Queretanas" (enchiladas tend to change name depending on the city you are - Queretaro, Queretanas; San Luis Potosi, Potosinas; Morelia; Morelianas). Something special about the Queretanas here is the variety of fillings, for instance you have the classic chicken, Chochinita pibil, arrachera, and cheese, or even better, all together! The service was equally great. The personnel was friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and the city
Was there during the week ans was the only table so it may not be the best place for breakfast. Juices were good although a bit pricy... enchiladas ok although for a non mexican really spicy / hot
The place was recommended for typical local snacks, but we got served rather full meals. Enchiladas a al casa, tortillas etc. where throughout delicious and incredibly cheap. Service is friendly and quick. The restaurant is located in the heart of the city in a pedestrian area.
Enough said, if you had one hell of a party last night come to this place! They have a a variety of Mexican dishes and fresh juices that will help you get moving. I only dislike the height of my table, I'm sort of tall, so eating my soup in previously mentioned conditions was kind of uncomfortable. Anyways, the food is perfect.
We had lunch the first week of June. We ordered arrachera tacos and juices. Fruit juices were not made of fresh fruit. A sfar as the tacos meat it dis not appear to be "real meat". It was extremely tender, which seemed suspicious. As you pressed it with the fork, it was evident that it was made of some pressed ingredient(probably meat based, I hope). I asked the server what kind of meat was that and she said they buy it in bulk like that. Because I am fairly tolerant to weird foods, I ate some of it, but my sister was unable to consume the meal. Needless to say it was a bad experience. Also, tortillas for the tacos were prepared with black or purple corn. While this may be a local recipe, it was not specified in the menu and it was an unpleasant surprise. Not eye appealing.
