La Tamaleria - Santiago de Querétaro

This place is located a short distance from the Temple de la Cruz, at the corner of 5 de mayo and Felipe Luna. The menu is good, but limited. My wife and I enjoyed three tamales: carne deshebrada (shredded beef), cochinita pibil (pork loin), and vegetarian. They were all quite tasty and very light compared to most tamales. Pamela, the chef and server, explained that she uses only whole grain ingredients and does not put lard in the cornmeal base. Our tab for the meal and one beverage was about $3.At this writing, it's open only from 7pm-10pm on Monday to Friday, but Pamela said she was planning to be open additional hours in the near future. The place is quite small with only three tables, but takeout is available.

La variedad de tamales es única, los sabores varían día a día, así que no siempre encontraras los mismos, pero esto se presta muy bien a que te animes a conocer otros. El tamal de cochinita, servido con su cebolla y salsa es increíble, el de choriqueso delicioso. No escatimaron en rellenarlos, los encontraras muy bien servidos. No olvides dejar hueco para un tamal dulce, el de elote o piloncillo te dejaran con ganas de mas. La atención de la dueña es muy buena.El lugar es un poco pequeño, apenas 2 mesas así que es recomendable pedir para llevar.

For people that love Mexican food but can 't handle the power of the Mexican 'spicy ' levels. These tamales are the best one can get in Centro Queretaro. Not only that but the owners are amazing and the prices are extremely reasonable for a full stomach of delicious food.
