Papacho's Jockey Plaza

Because of Covid we had delivered our meal. It was delivered hot. All 6 of us ordered something else! Everything was very delicious.

We like to eat at Papachos for lunch. They offer some ot the best vegetarian dishes in Lima.

Not the best burgers I definitely had, but good burgers for Lima standards. I ordered regular fries that were a disappointment. The restaurant is spacious and pleasantly decorated. The service is painfully slow. Our waiter needed 30 minutes to get our drinks. The food took so long. The chocolate dessert was fantastic. If you want to leave a tip, you need to do this in cash as there is no option for tips on CC.

We had dinner here with a group of about 20 people. The servers brought both Spanish and English menus, and they served drinks quickly. My burger was very good, and the bun and toppings were fresh. The bacon was a little small, though. The fries were good, too, and the sauces they provided were tasty and fun to try. I ordered fruity pesado tea to try something new, and it was okay, but I didn't love it. A couple members of our group found their burgers undercooked, but the severs took them back to correct as soon as they were made aware. They did a good job getting meals out to our group in a reasonable time. The atmosphere was comfortable and fun.

I have had good luck at Papachos just about every time I go. I leave very full. The burgers a large, good, and offer different variations. Love the macaroni and cheese too. I could easily give 4 or 5 stars if the the service were not so terrible. Our waiter was confident and spoke English as well as Spanish, which is a great trait in a server, but thats where it stops. We were seated at 1 pm, our order was taken at 1:15pm, our appetizer of potato skins came out at 2!!!! Ok, maybe they backed up, but 45 minutes is a bit long. Then our burgers came out 5 minutes later and we had not even finished 25% of the appetizer. Timing is key, and this was not. We noticed we had no condiments on the table so we asked our waiter, and 3 other waiters for ketchup and mayonaise so we could garnish our burgers. It took 30 minutes for MAYO and KETCHUP, because the waiters(3 to be exact) in our area were too caught up with a small group of girls at a neighboring table celebrating a birthday. REALLY? And that was the last we saw of our waiter(s) till we asked for the bill, never came back to ask if we needed refills for our empty glasses or anything. So when we finally were able to eat our burgers they were about room temp and we didn't have time to send them back to warm up or ask for a new plate. The previous time I had been, I remember the service also being slow and badly timing appetizers with the second course as well. I was hoping this was a one time thing since it was only the restaurant's 2nd week, but now they have well over a year and the same problem persists. So yes I do like the food, it is good, but the service needs a HUGE step up, and I would only eat here if I have at least 2 hours to eat.
