Our experience at the restaurant Mangiafoco in Lucca was overall positive. The prices are fair, opting for the sea menu at 23€ which includes starter, first and second. We enjoyed the goodness of the dishes, in particular the frying of fish, although the amount of fish in the pond to the rock was below expectations. This could be an isolated case, considering reviews that mention more abundant dishes. Among the 5 people present, 4 chose the sea menu and 2 liters of wine in carafe. The fifth commensale opted for a light meal out of the menu. Result: adding 4 sweets and two coffees, we spent altogether 33 euros per head. The staff distinguished themselves by kindness and professionalism, offering a fast service despite the local being crowded. The environment is comfortable, and overall we enjoyed it. While having found a disappointment in the amount of fish in one of the dishes, we would be willing to give another possibility to the restaurant, maybe trying the menu of land. However, considering the opinions of friends suggesting better alternatives in the area at a similar price, it might be difficult to find the opportunity for a return.
