Jpan University Town Center - Sarasota

We love jpan, and it's one of our Go-tos, but this time the rice was cooled, not fresh, and I have to take a star off for it. otherwise, edible as always!

My son and his girlfriend went here for Valentine’s Day because it’s her favorite. They can home extremely happy with their entire dinner.

We enjoyed our dinner and the service was great. It was a cold night outside 53 degrees and it was cold and drafty inside. It felt like the AC was blowing on us. Other than that it was an enjoyable dinner.

First and most important, the food is excellent, some of the best sushi around. However, I expect a sushi bar to be relaxed and quiet, if not contemplative. The cement floors and hard walls reflect every sound making it difficult to speak. And this was with the room only half full.

Jpan is my go-to place for sushi and girls night out. The service is on the slow side. However, I find it perfect for a group gathering so you don’t feel rushed. My only complaint is the waitress at this occasion was barely visible. She never followed up if we wanted another drink or order anything else which we did. Due to service, I rated my experience 4-stars.
