Osteria Spirito Di Vino - SARTEANO

This is an excellent restaurant. The cooking is full of flavour, quality, integrity and authenticity. Over the years we have eaten here and always enjoyed first rate and delicious meals with excellent and courteous service.

We visited on the recommendation of our hotel La Sovana. The restaurant is typically authentic Italian, where the locals go. We struggled a little with the language barrier, but it was so worth it. We really enjoyed the home cooked food. The wine we chose wasn’t the best, but then that was just my choice and taste, as there were plenty other choices on the menu. The service was okay (with us not being able to speak Italian we couldn’t make great rapport), but the locals did and everyone seemed happy, making for a nice ambiance. We sat outside. The place is small so I would book ahead. After the meal we walked into Sarteano and there was a philharmonic concert on in the square. We had a lovely evening ‘mixing with the locals’.

We came here on the Advice of the owner at the B&B we stayed in Sarteano. While the owner spoke little English, he was very helpful. This was our BEST meal on our recent trip to Italy. If we return to Sarteano, we will eat here again. Note, the place is small, so you may want to call ahead for reservations.
