The Berry Barn - Saskatoon

I discovered this restaurant through a tourist guide and decided to give it a shot. They offer a variety of savory and sweet options for lunch and dinner. I chose their set menu for dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. The portions are quite generous, and the service is quick and impeccable.

A fantastic place to visit! The garden is wonderfully maintained. Although we had to wait in line for a table, it was definitely worth it. I especially loved the Saskatoon berry pie—it's a must-try!

There are plenty of mouthwatering dishes featuring Saskatoon berries! With excellent service and a stunning setting, it's an easy place to recommend. Be sure not to miss out on dessert as well!

So glad I stopped even though out of my way. Had a wonderful lunch (pierogies and cabbage roll) and took a to go meal for dinner at my hotel in another city later that evening (Cabbage Borscht , homemade roll and Saskatoon pie)..All of the food was excellent and the grounds beautiful.Service was prompt mid week. Gift store/cashier area was too crowded for leisurely browsing but I was in a hurry anyway.

Our review rating is low due to several reasons… Hospitality was questionable because the hostesses were clearly not having a good day! Their response to our comment that we were meeting people and just needed to know if our friends had arrived was abrupt in tone and wording…we were told that they were certain our friends were not in the restaurant even tho’ they had not even asked our names…they said only one person was allowed to go and check in the restaurant so I said okay and went to look…upon not finding our friends the one hostess said to me…I told you so with a sneer in her voice and facial expression This was rude treatment and upsetting…we were then told in loud and angry tones to go and wait on the deck to be called…we hadn’t been to the Berry farm in many years as we live out of province so we didn’t know their new protocols…this was surprising…we had not been treated this way is the past. I’m sure this is not the greeting and welcome to Saskatoon the owners of the Berry barn would like to portray!! A refresher in Customer service is probably in order for the hostesses in particular!! It’s not a good idea to bring one’s personal ‘bad day and problems’ to work. Everyone of us are an individual requiring respect and explanation! No one in our group was rude or nasty in any way to these hostesses…we just asked a question! I also suggest a revamping of the menu to include more gluten free options and education for the servers so they can give accurate advice to patrons for how to modify a dish so that it may be ordered…EG. the pie fillings are gluten free but the server did not realize this to offer as a gluten free dessert instead of pie…she indicated there was nothing gluten free. It is unlikely I will visit the Berry barn again because of their limited Gluten free options and the really unpleasant customer service by the hostesses.
