I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The décor is stunning, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Walking through the greenhouse before or after your meal is a great added bonus. I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem in the prairie.
This restaurant is located just outside Saskatoon and offers a unique and interesting atmosphere. There are many things to see while exploring the property. The food was tasty, but the service was disappointingly slow.
Our daughter was home for the weekend visiting from Calgary. We wanted to do something a little different and somewhat memorable. A colleague had told me her group of women friends and gone to Solar Gardens for a pizza night (Friday) so we decided to try it.We were thrilled at our choice. Firstly it is a nice short drive from Saskatoon on quiet country roads so good time to relax. The setting is incredible as it is a succulent paradise augmented by creative, beautiful range of stylish garden furniture and accessories. As well there is a shop offering wonderful olive oils and balsamic vinegar, Of course we purchased some as we enjoy crusty bread and dips! (Our daughter took some home to Calgary and phoned us shortly after to ask us to pick up some more for her).My wife is not into wine but she agreed to try the sangria. She loved it! So we had a couple of pitchers, one red and one while wine based.Since it was Friday we had naturally had pizza. No reservation is take for Fridays so we arrived early shortly after 4:00 pm. There were quite a few diners already and more arrived throughout the time we were there until the place was comfortably busy. The pizzas were 'build your own' variety. I opted for the peanut based sauce rather than the tomato sauce and it was incredible. I chose my own toppings, no limit but since it is thin crust you are wisely advised to not go overboard. Wood fired pizza can't be beat. We've had same in Venice, Italy but this was equally as enjoyable. They were done perfectly. I prefer choosing my own toppings rather than settling for pre-determined selections since my wife and I have quite different likes.Totally enjoyable experience from the time we left home till the time we got back home. Dining out is not just about the food and drink offering. It is about enjoying the total experience, food, drink, setting and company. We will be back! I am looking forward to seeing how things are during the winter as our dining was poolside on a hot summer day until the rain shower caused us to seek refuge inside.
This dinner out is all about the experience, and it is a feast of many senses. We enjoyed a family, c/w toddlers, the get together which felt as comfortable and warm and inviting as a home party. The menu is not complicated but the wood fire pizza selection both savory and sweet unique and delicious., Sangria pitches a MUST have. The gathering of amazing furniture, China collections, art, photo, eclectic and antique, and we have not even touched on the main focus of the SOLAR GARDENS which is succulents, makes this venu indeed all about the experience. Definately going to come back in the summer and wander the interesting grounds and learn more about the amazing world of succulents: what a succulent place.. Pun intended... Now, how not to overwater my succulent bowl which will be a cherished memory of a truly amazing party! Do go!
