Let me first begin with the flooring in one section of the restaurant lucite built over ruins. It’s very special to be seated in this area where there are only 2 tables. We started with a typical assorted antipasto meats and assorted white “pizza” delicious. We ordered 2 pasta dishes picinelle cob tartufo and passatelle with sausage large portions and enough for a family of 4 to share. For our near course, we tried the rabbit in pitchers tender cooked perfectly with a side of roasted potatoes. Worth the drive!
On the way to Fabriano we stopped at this restaurant-farmstay opened in 2012 by a young chef who built up his experience at Marchese del Grillo in Fabriano. The authentic flavours of the food, the unusual combination of the antipasto and the ambience created by the glass covering the ancient wall which gives the name to the property, made our experience extremely positive. The spinach and ricotta ravioloni in particular stood out as we liked the more spinach less ricotta filling, and the pasta itself was well made and cooked. The truffle on top was the cherry on the pie . The farmstay is easy to find being on the SS16 (left hand side), entering the town of Sassoferrato coming from Fabriano, and is in the archeological park of Sentinum (the Roman settlement that became Sassoferrato). We would love to dine here again and heartily recommend this restaurant.
With a fairly large family group we were fine in this restaurant which is suitable for all and all seasons; the rustic but well-kept interior has various rooms, one with the crystal floor showing a Roman wall below, since at two steps there are excavations of Roman times; the outer square is fine for summer and there is also a large covered structure. They also have rooms and a camper area but everything is very large, located in the green countryside. The food is of quality, the meat menu is linked to the traditions of Marche with products as much as possible local, the choice is varied, there is also a children's menu. Plentiful portions at honest prices, tickled and affable service. Really advisable.
Ferragosto lunch based on meat. Excellent quality plentiful dishes, too much, handmade pasta. The menu was fixed x which definitely easy to manage, but all the service was fast. Too bad for fruit-based dessert that was not a dessert but a macedonia conn the cream. It's okay for the rest!
Piatti gustosi e abbondanti, servizio ottimo e grande professionalità! Grazie Guido per il pranzo di oggi e per tutto il resto!
