Wally's Grill - Saugatuck

Our service was great and our food tasted great but the portions were small. My husband got the 1/2 Perch dinner which was two pieces of fish and maybe a half handful of fries for $18. I had the Gorgonzola salad and it was delicious but again on the small side for $14. Great atmosphere.

Do yourself a big favor and order the perch sandwich. It was the ultimate yummo. Ate at the bar at the back where it seemed the locals gather.A very pleasant repast indeed.

On the plus side, even with just a handful of taps, they have some outstanding beers (when I went they had M-43, Oberon, and Jai Alai which are all first-rate!)This place is open later than other venues in Saugatuck, but that also means at 9pm sharp it gets busy, loud, and rowdy.Some of their food is good (I had good walleye and the burritos looked good) but some of it is lousy (I think the chicken tenders, onion rings, and fried green beans are all commercial frozen stuff). Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't bring kids here at night. Rowdy drunks.

My husband and I walked into Wally’s today (a Thursday afternoon around 2pm) and we had our two young children, one of which was in a stroller. We were not aware of the “no stroller” policy. I’m not going to say I agree with a hard stop on strollers but I also understand that rules are there for a reason, and I’m happy to oblige. What I do not understand is why the woman working found it necessary to just repeat “no strollers! No strollers!” and essentially chase us off the patio. It was so uncomfortable. Just walk over and quietly explain your policy, that would have worked better. I might add that there was another family there, enjoying their meal, with a baby… in a stroller. Just an overall weird experience, will choose other establishments in the future.

Wally's is definitely a tradition with my husband and me. The menu doesn't change much, but there is plenty to choose from. The atmosphere is okay, but it does get very loud.
