Black-eyed Suzie's Upstate - SAUGERTIES

This was a fantastic restaurant to dine at in the Hudson River Valley. They offered a variety of fresh ingredients and a great menu— I particularly enjoyed the corn chowder. The drinks were delicious, especially the rosemary ice cream, which was out of this world. The desserts were also amazing (don’t miss the cheesecake!). I recommend making a reservation, as it is a very small restaurant.

I would give more stars if I could! Black Eyed Suzie's catered our wedding this past summer, and the food was absolutely amazing. Working with Cheryl was a true delight. Our guests still rave about how delicious everything was. Cheryl was kind, flexible, and took care of everything you could possibly want in a wedding vendor. A huge thank you to everyone at Black Eyed Suzie's for making our wedding so special!

Keep in mind that the restaurant operates more like a catering service than typical takeout, so you'll need to place your order a few days in advance and select a specific pickup time. Be sure to order by Wednesday for a Friday pickup and keep an eye out for the confirmation to ensure you make the payment on time. While it does require some planning to get takeout from here, the results are definitely worth it!

Don 't go alone...because if you see an empty table on the back patio, they 'll refuse to seat you. 'Saving for friends and family ' they said. 'You could sit out front on the sidewalk ' and listen to the motorcycles. No food could be that good.

Black Eyed Suzie's is one of my favorite places to get takeout because the menu is oddly fitting for any craving, dietary needs, or occasion you could think of. As many others have stated, the standout really is the parker house loaf. It's so good I think about this flake salt topped treasure quite often. The employees are also very nice and they have an efficient system for takeout, although I'd imagine dining in is great as well. Seems like a clean place where customer and staff safety comfort are important to the owners. Saugerties has many eateries to offer, but don't skip out on Black Eyed Suzie's hidden way at the bottom of a busy street I think most people would really enjoy it. Excited to return this summer!
