Grillroom 1901 - Sault Ste. Marie

After our Soo Locks Tour, we decided to try the Grillroom 1901! I have to say, we were also eager to try the lobster.

During our first visit to Sault Ste. Marie, we had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The waitresses were prompt and attentive, checking in with us just the right number of times. The short rib nachos were the perfect portion, delicious, and truly some of the best nachos I've ever had. The 12-ounce NY Strip was cooked to perfection and came with excellent sides of green beans and fries. Overall, it’s a fantastic place with great food and outstanding service!

What a delightful experience! Finding a place to eat on Mondays and Tuesdays can be quite a challenge in many parts of our state due to staffing and supply issues. After some extensive research online, we discovered this lovely restaurant/bar, which is part of a stunning golf complex right by the river. The food was exceptional! Our server was fantastic, and one of the owners was there to share insights about their amazing dining room. I wish I had taken a picture of my chicken marsala, which was among the best I've ever tasted. My wife ordered the white fish tacos, which came as three oversized tacos filled with generous portions of fresh, delicious fish! If you're looking for an unforgettable meal, I highly recommend you avoid the tourist traps and seek out this gem on the outskirts. However, do keep in mind that they will soon close for the winter.

Excellent service, delicious local food. Premium ingredients, amazing cook that talked to us about everything. The fish was amazing, fresh and local. The fillet was wonderfully locally cooked. I can't recommend very much. Just the best restaurant in Michigan Soo. There's no sign, just in the country club. EAT HERE!

Believe me when I tell you this, Grillroom 1901 is the very best place to eat in Soo MI. They have Poutine. Really good gooey poutine. They have Whitefish. Fresh, caught today. They have wine. Pretty darned good wine. You could train to become an amateur wino here. And, homemade dessert, butter brickle cake. With, ice cream. The cake was warm. I wanted to lick the plate … Thank you Paige, for the excellent service. Oh my!
