Even though they 're busy they make sure to check in with you. The ambiance is pretty calm. I got the famous clam chowder and it was very good because it didn 't quite taste like the usual store bought clam chowders with an artificial taste. Instead, the bacon pieces in it added a rich flavor and the server comes and sprinkles black pepper on it if you would like some. The soup consistency is very thin but the ingredients used in it make up for it! I have had different clam chowders but none of them have been good as this one for a picky eater! my significant other got the De Cecco linguine Pescatore, one for $29.99, and it was better than the linguine from A Taste of Rome. It didn 't have too much sauce yet it still had a savory taste hidden within the noodles! It was super filling and we took some to go which we didn 't know we could do but the server was very friendly! Overall, the place is pricey but it 's definitely worth it! Try going on a weekday evening for a less chaotic restaurant! Oh and to add onto this, when my significant other and I left, everyone said goodbye. It felt like we were leaving a cozy family dinner!
We went to Sausalito for a nice weekend getaway and this was the first stop for dinner on our first night. We went for an early dinner around 6ish and were sat right away. I got a glass of Cabernet and my hubby got a **** Mary. He said it wasn't that great (I don't care for them so I'll take his word! The Cab was so good! I wish i remember the name, but it was the only one they had that night. We got a dozen oysters as an appetizer, again I'm not a fan but the hubby enjoyed them!!! For our entrees we got the Captain Morgan Salmon, and the Surf and Turf (filet and 2 lobster tails . My salmon was excellent! The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly but the thing that put it over the edge was the sauce! It was delicious! He kept stealing bites because he liked the sauce too! I was a little worried when they set his plate down because the steak looked like it was overcooked from my side of the table. He ordered it medium rare and that's exactly what it was! It was cooked perfectly and was so tender and flavorful! He really enjoyed it! We were very satisfied with everything we ordered. Our server was sweet and attentive. The only thing with her was that she would start walking away as we were still talking and we would have to call her back. We thought it was kinda funny. The ambiance was nice. We were in a small section where there were only 5 tables and it didn't feel crowded or too loud, and the view was beautiful. The thing that bothered me the most was that almost everything I wanted to order was out. Coming to a seafood restaurant it was odd to me that early on a Friday night they would be out of crab??? Nor did they have scallops. Even though I was very happy with my meal it kinda takes away a little when you have your heart set on something specific. That being said the next time we're in Sausalito (and it will be soon this will be a place we stop for dinner!
Love, love love this place. Went Easter Sunday with friends as we were craving whole steamed lobster and wasn't disappointed. Only disappointment was the sides that came with the lobster looked and tasted like day old veggies and mashed potatoes, not the boiled red potatoes or corn on the cob they used to offer. Regardless, this is the only place left in the county serving whole lobster which is cooked perfectly. Add the delightful setting and you hardly notice the inflated prices :
Love this place nice crowd bar tender Mike funny as hell i will surely be back on a refular
On March 21st, a Monday, my wife were out hiking the hills in Marin celebrating our seventh year anniversary. We wanted to have a nice early dinner somewhere in southern Marin. A couple places that I had considered had been around a long time and had been great restaurants to eat at. Unfortunately, they were not the same as they used to be and it had been reported, and my experience as well, the service was a little snobby. Then I remembered the Seafood Peddler. It had been a favorite of my family for a long time beginning in San Rafael and I hadn 't been back to it since my parents passed away. We arrived at 3 pm which was the end of lunch and the beginning of the dinner menu. It was not crowded, two other tables occupied at the time. Our waitress was Anita. I remembered her and we had her in the past once or twice. She opened the big window next to us; it was a beautiful day and this was so awesome that she did this! My wife always likes to asks the servers their opinions on the selections and EVERYTHING she recommended was excellent! My wife and I had the cooked oysters with garlic for an appetizer. My wife had the petrolé and I had the Hawaiian swordfish. Both were excellent. Despite what some other reviewer posted, the bread was no extra charge. We had the Keylime pie with the coconut ice cream for dessert. That was an excellent way to finish the meal! Otto was the bar tender, but had been our waiter in the past as well. Hugo came in around 4 and we got to talk with him as well. He was our family 's favorite waiter, but the others are just as good. The whole meal was perfect and it was so nice to see Hugo, Otto and Anita. It was like seeing family that we had not seen in a long time. We will be back!!! Thank you to our family at the Seafood Peddler! David and Ele
