We had a great time at the inn. Ate at the restaurant our first night and it was great food and great service. We would recommend staying there and will again on our next trip. Rooms: Rooms were clean and well kept. Lots of antiques in room and hallways. We had no problems. Nearby activities: Near many of the older homes we wanted to tour. Short walk to Broughton st. Do one of the hop on hop off tours. Ended up at the riverfront end of the first day and enjoyed shopping and site seeing. Also that a short ride to see the mighty 8th museum at Pooler Ga. Well worth it. Walkability: You can walk to most places. Get a map and layout where you want to go to save steps. Also down load and use the WAVE app. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic, Quiet
We just went to the restaurant and it was incredible!!! Zack, our waiter, was attentive and informative. He went over the menu and specials and even asked the chefs if foods were allergen friendly for me. He was delightful! Sierra (I hope I’m spelling that correctly) made sure we felt special for our visit and was just beyond kind. The food was amazing and I truly cannot recommend this place enough! From the biscuits with honey, our two seafood entrees, and the key lime pie, my husband and I were overjoyed with the food and service we experienced. Thank you for making our first trip to Savannah even more memorable! Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic
This is a beautiful old brick building with a lot of history. The food was great and the atmosphere was fantastic! We enjoyed the musings of the piano man and I loved looking at all of the different brick work around the dining rooms. I would have loved to see the rooms at the inn upstairs! The second photo is of me in front of the 1790. Check out the window above me, is it a guest or ghost? Nearby activities: Just a couple of blocks from Starbucks and the famous Leopold's ice cream shop. Lots of historic homes to look at nearby. Walkability: Located centrally and were able to park in front of Starbucks and walk the two and a half blocks over with ease. Food drinks: Large selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Noteworthy details: This establishment is said to be haunted by three distinct spirits Ghost Hunters stayed at the inn and investigated! Check out the episode! In regards to the restaurant, food was great. The service left room for improvement. Our server, Madison, kept handing me things and asking me to hand her things from across the table instead of walking the two steps it would take to go around and pick them up or place them down in front of me. It 's the absolute weirdest waitress experience, for this price point, that I 've ever had. I assume it 's casual fine dining but this was Diner Style service. Now combine that with the plastic topped grind your own salt and pepper shakers on the table and its the wrong vibe. If the goal is Tavern style, maybe, but that 's not what we were expecting. Or maybe the server just needs better training.
