Ukiyo - Savannah

We went for a date night and loved it! This is a restaurant for any type of night out. There is a large high top table in the center where a large group of ladies were. We sat at a table for two. There is also a bar. We will be back! The drinks (Tokyo cosmo, rose and sake) were all delish. I was surprised there was no Pinot Noir on the wine list. There were 3 red all on the heavier side, which I would not enjoy with sushi. The chicken ramen was some of the best wr have ever had! Friendly staff. They were so nice! Also I called earlier in the day to switch our reservations and they got back to me before they opened and it was no problem! Just a 10 all around!

The look of the restaurant was the best part! The space was very stylish and comfortable, however drinks were very overpriced. My partner order a 15$ glass of wine which came to the table looking way less than a standard 5 oz pour. The food all came out at odd times, for example we ordered three appetizers for the table all at the same time. One of them came by itself even though we had ordered two of the same, then 10 minutes later another came, then finally the second order of the first one that had arrived came to the table after our entrees started coming. All the entrees were delivered to the table at different random times. Our server was knowledgeable but hard to get a hold of, we were not checked on very often and were trying to get her attention through much of the meal. Some of the entrees were enjoyable, such as the ramen, the fried rice dish and the Unagi Don. The bao buns and sushi were also tasty. However the chicken karaage and pork katsu were literally just fried meat on a plate over raw cabbage. Very unimaginative, untasty, incomplete and underwhelming. Over-all, the restaurant in general is a good idea and something Savannah could use, but the execution needs to really improve in order to stay viable. For the price, I wouldn't consider a second visit unless they stepped things up a notch.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The food is fresh, unique and amazing and the service was excellent. Thank you to Maxine for making our experience stellar.
