Tempest - Scarborough

We arrived at 6.15 which was 15 minutes late as there was an accident on the route,but we had phoned and advised and the waitress greeted us cheerfully,sympathised just a little re the hold up and took us to our table.A waiter appeared within 2 minutes with the finger bowl and dishes and returned with water.We had already made our order with our reservation that we were having the seafood platter and this had obviously been communicated to the staff.The Chardonnay was very pleasant and our meal arrived within 10 mins.Well presented with a nice balance of seafood with not a lot of deep fried food.Oysters,bugs,fresh and bbq prawns,spanner crab,flathead,calamari,sushi and small amount of hot chips.All this on a large raised platter with lots of fresh fruit.We felt the meal was well balanced and great value for money and drink prices on a par with similar establishments.It has been a long time between visits but I will return much sooner than previous.

We had a lovely lunch here and have eaten here quite a few times. We have had seafood platters. The view is lovely - the view of the water and boats. Great service, attentive waiters. We are Brisbanites and were excited by the fact that they had a few Qld wines on the menu. Many Brisbane restaurants have no Qld wines and that is always very disappointing.

Booked for 1.00pm. Ordered seafood platter for two and prawn skewer for my daughter at 1.15pm. One beer. One glass of wine. One lemonade. Waiter comes back to say no prawn skewer. Changed to crab cocktail. 1.25 waiter returns to say no crab cocktail. At this point we had not received any drinks not even the cold water. Nothing. Wife and i look at each other. Stand and tell the waiter we are leaving and will not be returning.

Have the best night celebrating family birthday here. Only 2 sittings offered each night, we chose early one and shared the night with 5 new friends on our table. Freshest variety of seafood, vegetables and meat cooked in front of you by talented Japanese chef. A number if different menus to choose from and all reasonably priced. Highlights ch T would have to be the interactive cooking towardsend of the Neal. What a hoot. Highly recommended. Will definitely return

I ordered flathead tails but unfortunately it was overcooked. My cocktail was nice and my daughters foid was nice. My husband and son shared seafood platter and my 10 yr old son had a wonderful time picking through it. He loved it. The mussels were also delish as I tried some. Service was lovely but it was mainly mine and my daughter's order (from the kids menu/fish) which was the let down)!
