Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The only downside was the prepackaged tartar sauce that was a bit difficult to use (squeeze to squirt type). Despite this, we will definitely be returning in the future.
I was disappointed to discover that the restaurant only had one other option for imported frozen fish. The prices should be lower considering the limited selection. I only ended up buying something because I was craving fish and chips and the other options seemed unappealing. Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience and do not plan on returning.
The service at this restaurant was excellent, even though it was busy. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection, with the fish lightly battered tempura style. It appears that all the fish is prepared fresh on site. The Boatshed is conveniently located on the waterfront. It is a BYO restaurant with a beautiful environment, perfect for sitting outside and enjoying a drink. This is our go-to spot for fish and chips and one of the best in the area.
The best fish chips on the half island. the service is as good as any other, and the premises is clean and welcoming.
I was really looking forward to my meal here but was very disappointed to receive fish and chips coated in a sickly slightly flavoured tempura batter. I am not sure what it is but each time we bought it i would feel sick. Even though...it is only 2 minutes walk for us we prefer to go to another shop. It is very clean and tidy. A big credit to the owners. Prices are the highest on the peninsula. Prices are okay if its only 2 of you but expect to spend $100 for 4 or 5 people. Bring back the good old days of fish and chips battered plain with home cut chips (ie:not frozen) wrapped in newspaper!!! Taking the unnecessary trimmings off (sweet potato and lemon) and the specially made and printed packaging, you could no doubt reduce your prices and attract more clientele.
