Chris Jerk offers a unique dining experience with meals that go beyond the typical rice and protein combinations. Each dish comes with flavorful stir-fried vegetables and delicious fried plantains, making it a satisfying and generous portion. The oxtail was rich and meaty, with a delicious gravy that complemented the rice and peas perfectly. The curry chicken, while accompanied by chickpeas, had a nice balance of flavors and spices. The jerk chicken, however, was on the milder side and lacked the traditional bold flavors expected. Adding hot sauce may be a good idea for those looking for more heat. Overall, the meals at Chris Jerk are tasty but may require some additional seasoning for those seeking a spicier kick.
What a delicious spot for Caribbean food. We ordered the curried chicken with a side of jerk chicken and both were delicious. The curry had superb flavour and the chicken was perfectly cooked. They offer complimentary hot sauce on the side and you should definitely get that with your order. It completes the meal. Awesome stuff team Chris Jerk. Will be back for more.
We visited this place for a quick lunch during a weekday and were pleasantly surprised by the inflow of people at this spot. Their food is spot on and very much worth-it for the price you spend. Portion sizes are huge and the flavours are just perfect. We ordered the jerk chicken shawarma and the shawarma poutine, both of which were very hearty meals. 10/10 experience!
This place appears on many Scarborough foodie lists and it's definitely worth a visit. The unique Caribbean fusion offers a different spin and I went for the jerk chicken shawarma wrap with a side of fried chicken. I loved the wrap with which tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor but wasn't really spicy so this should be fine for most people's tastes. I didn't enjoy the fried chicken quite as much but it still tasted just as fresh as the shawarma.
