Feedback gevenI booked a table for Salt Water using the online booking system, which required me to enter my card details to secure the booking. When I arrived for my booking the restaurant was closed. Being out of season in Scarborough I then struggled to find somewhere else to eat. I felt incredibly misled and disappointed. I am very unlikely to try again as I cannot trust that this place will be open as advertised.
Booked for new years eve, got a confirmation message, then got a request to reconfirm day before which I did and another confirmation if booking. Turned up to find restaurant dark and closed up. Another couple turned up shortly after also with a booking and stared into the darkness. Booking system completely inadequate do not use, ruined our new years eve.
This is laughable. Despite having a booking confirmed now being asked for feedback on the meal….the restaurant was shut when I arrived on New Year’s Eve. Totally unprofessional they obvs don’t know how to use their online tech. Clearly do not care about the customer experience.
Thank you for asking for our opinions. We feel you should be aware that this premises is not currently taking bookings at all we arrived at the time of our confirmed booking to find the premises closed up and we were unable to dine there. The Saltwater Bar and cafe WAS open during the daytime the next day and when we went in, the manager was unapologetic and uninterested. He said the premises does not open in the evenings until February half term and repeatedly claimed that Open Table had been informed of this. However, given the number of negative reviews for this business on Trip Advisor we suspect this may not be true but felt you should be aware as obviously their disorganised incompetence reflects negatively on Open Table as well.
Beautiful variety of cakes etc.and coffee to boot and reasonably priced.
