Matisse Beach Club - Scarborough

Great concept & has the potential to be something really cool but is already looking tired and run down - like its had a hard life. Staff lacked enthusiasm. Food was Ok but not fantastic. Was nice to tick the box "been there done that" experience but we wouldnt rush back.

This place has the potential to be something, but the staff and service really let it down. Ordering a cocktail to watch the staff looking at cheat sheets demonstrates they have lack of experience and training. If this is the case I could probably do it myself at home than paying someone for this service. Food is average too and quite over priced. Go to El grotto if you're in the area. There's at least a great ambiance.

I came here with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, ordered the steak and chips and it was great - could not fault it - I would have been happy with just the fat chips - they are amazing!!! Wine list is good not great but covers all minor bases!!! Fun wise - it never lets you down - always plenty of sexy people having a good time!!! (in the summer anyway - may be a bit quiet on the cooler nights)!!!

I loved the setting of this place, had a great atmosphere and beautiful view but I have to say I was very disappointed with the food. It was such a let down after seeing some amazing photos online of their food, only to find that the dishes we wanted were no longer on the menu. As a group we ordered a few thing to share which were all very average considering how expensive it was.
