Fortunately I was with friends who had been here before and they wouldn't consider anywhere else. With good reason; the drive was interesting because of the vast panorama of lights in the valley below. The welcome was really warm, as was the atmosphere. We were a party of 8 and had our own little side room, but still felt part of all that was going on. The food was simply excellent. Service was engaging and friendly, but still totally efficient. The only major fault I can find is that it may be a while before I can get back there. But I will.
Cosy garden restaurant area. Traditional menu. Each course we had was excellent and clearly house made. We would make the journey again to Verdins to eat here.

My husband and I ate here 4 times in the 12 days that we spent in Schenna, and even though it’s a bit of a trip up the hill to this place, it is well worth the ride. The food is wonderful, especially the homemade “house” tomato sauce which they ought to sell by the jar!! The service was excellent and the two gentleman that take care of you are a wonderful team...very entertaining, with a subtle humor that maybe not everyone understands...but we loved it and will always return to this place when we are in the area. Highly recommended by the locals, too. Relaxing garden and lovely views of the surrounding hills. Enjoy!!
My first really bad experience with a restaurant in South Tyrol (in almost 20 years . I have to say that all we ate at Bad Verdins was pretty good (knoedl soup, tris de pasta, the fillet . The prices are not excessive either. If you are the kind of person who does mind being ignored and mistreated by waiters with attitude, it is a good deal. Otherwise, strongly advise you to avoid the place. Our waiter was called Jimmy, today apparently he changes names and thinks this is cool . He complained we made a reservation for 5 people but were 6. It could make sense if the restaurant was full or very busy (not the case! and if we did not already have space for six people in our table. He handed us the menus, took 20 minutes to come back (so no drinks were ordered until then . We chose our wine and it took Jimmy another 15 minutes to open the bottle (which was sitting in the middle of the table . Since I was the only foreigner at the table (my five friends are locals I can only guess that Jimmy 's boss does not really care about service quality. Not coming back! Ever! I certainly can find good food and good service at decent prices in many places in South Tyrol.
